A Stencil Tuesday

Here’s what I did today…

It’s a little difficult to tell from the picture, but it’s a stencil – this particular one is on a ceiling!  Here’s what is awesome about stenciling…
     1.  High impact, low dollar!
     2.  You can choose whatever color you want!  {no limitations like when you’re choosing wallpaper}
     3.  Easy removal.  {decide you don’t like it in a few years, no problem – just paint over it}
Now, I will say that this process takes a certain finesse and a whole lot of patience, but I think it’s totally worth it.

Here’s a quick summary of how stenciling works:
  -Choose your stencils and colors.
  -Spray adhesive on your stencil and put on the wall, staying aligned as you go.
  -Using a foam applicator (I prefer a dense foam roller) apply paint over the stencil.
  -Peel off the stencil and repeat!

I will admit, there are a few more steps in between than just stick, paint, repeat.  If you want more information or have any questions, feel free to send me an e-mail anytime.  I’d love to help!
We are creating quite the “wow factor” in this dining room, not only with the dark color on the ceiling but with the stenciled pattern as well.  I’ll have to share more pictures when the room is put back together. :)
We purchased our stencil and supplies from the local Hobby Lobby store.  But, if you’re looking for more options, images, and instruction check out Cutting Edge Stencils: http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/
 And, for a little extra inspiration – here are some fabulous stenciled rooms!
Happy stencil Tuesday!  Until next time-
