DIY Rustic Wood Shelf

When your father has the foresight to save wood from an old farmhouse = pure joy.  When he helps you design a custom shelf for a bathroom install = pure amazing!

We knew we wanted to show off the worn wood and incorporate this piece of ribbed glass that we had salvaged from an old hog shed. By turning the wood piece to be mounted against the wall you can appreciate the cool look of the worn wood. He cut two diagonal pieces to support the glass top. We measured & cut the wood to fit the width & depth we needed to accommodate the glass piece. The wood is simply screwed into studs in the wall. They are visible, but become unnoticeable because of the texture of the wood. The glass piece is simply set on top of the shelf.

Hoping to reveal the full portfolio of images from this teal & grey bathroom makeover soon. But for now – off to help a new client bring her window covering dreams to life.
