Start here. Start at the beginning.
If you’re wondering how to get that home decorating project going – Start with some inspiration!
How can you be inspired you ask… Find pictures of rooms that make you drool. Look for colors that you love. Find a piece of artwork that speaks to you – it’s saying “You got this!” Look at your closet to see what neutral colors you are drawn to. Use that amazing photograph you took on your last vacation.
Successful design starts with inspiration. Stays focused. And executes that inspiration beautifully.
Here’s an example of how inspiration can be used to bring a room to life. Blue tones are super hot right now & I’m seeing rope everywhere – so that led me to this picture of a fishing net. Isn’t it great?!
I wanted to pull out the blues and greens, keep a rustic feel, and bring in lots of texture. Can you see how the inspiration photo lead me to these items? The woven rope on the lamp – the pattern on the rug – the pops of black. Love!
