I promised more posts showing the details of my most recent “nook” design. We’re going to break it down, y’all! {envision me doing a little pretzel wave with my arms and shaking my knees back and forth – woo! breakin’ it down! alright!} Goodness, I love to dance. Anyway – I’m getting off track here.
Warning: there are a LOT of pictures in this post.
I present layering the nook…
I started with columns of the stitched book pages. They have these adorable little illustrations on them that I just love! I stitched them with green thread – just pulling them through the sewing machine one at a time. I stuck them to the wall with a ring of painter’s tape – the top page is stuck to the wall, and I also taped the bottom page of each column – so they wouldn’t blow around and get tangled when the nearby door opened and closed.
Then I added my floral, watercolor artwork. This darling was a complete DIY – I will share details in another post soon!
Then, came the painted school chairs. I am obsessed with these beauts – so fierce with those curves & amazing pattern! They were a total steal & I will share how I hand-painted the pattern {again, in another post coming soon – so many things to look forward to in blog land}.
This table BARELY squeaked in between the two chairs. With a little encouragement – it fit just right (thank goodness the table is slightly shorter than the chair height). I went back and forth about leaving the table because of the tight fit – but I just thought they were so cute together, it was meant to be!
Wouldn’t be complete without a few accessories! The icing, I like to call it on occasion.
A few small candle holders, a thrifted tin, and a floral {by yours truly} finished it off – just right!
Can’t forget the business cards!
And there you have it – all layered together.
Thanks for “Breakin’ It Down!” with me! Now – I dare you to crank some tunes and do a little dance in your living room! Haha – life is short, celebrate it!
Have a wonderful weekend!
-Rachel
