“I have seen shades of green and yellow. I wear canvases, paper, mirrors, a door. I can hold a pumpkin collection. The color of my wall skin has remained, but my styling changes with the seasons. What she will do to me next – no one can tell.” -The Nook
Complete creative freedom… Mua-a-a-a {that was my best shot at an evil/creative laugh}. I have had the joy of decorating this wonderful nook for a local hair salon. It’s like my creative release – where I get to dream up fun new designs for an intimate little space off of the salon’s entry. I have a new nook design to share with you today – but first!… I thought it would be fun to look at how the little nook has progressed over the last year.
It started out with this gorgeous collaboration of mustard & emerald…
Felt fall come alive with birch & a collection of pumpkins…
Took on a non-traditional pale pink for the Christmas & winter season…
And NOW…
It has a totally new face lift! Complete with stitched book page wall, watercolor artwork with DIY frame, stencil-top table, and painted school chairs.
I’ll be sharing details of individual projects in future blog posts. I’ll show how I created the layers of the nook. I’ll show process on the watercolor artwork and the DIY painted school chairs.
Isn’t it amazing how one little space can have such HUGE change?!
So, do tell – which nook design is your favorite?! I would love to hear your thoughts! Share in the comment box below.
Have a super, amazing weekend!
-Rachel
